In 2015, Berlin based Canadian producer Bwana told Resident Advisor that he made a few edits with dialogue from the beloved and influential 1988 Japanese animated film Akira, after the soundtrack was reissued on vinyl. What was just a fun project began to take more form as he started feeding the film audio and taking samples of dialogue. The end result is his incredible tribute titled Capsule’s Pride (Bikes).
Featuring dialogue, music, and other sound effects, Bwana takes you through Akira’s spectacular world with thumping bass and hypnotic progressive rhythms. This is one you don’t want to skip because Capsule’s Pride (Bikes) could be one of the best albums of the year.
